Transhumanism

Transhumanism is a cultural movement supporting the use of new sciences and technologies to enhance human mental and physical abilities.

Among the goals of the movement is conquering aging, by the uses of emerging technologies such as nanotechnology, cybernetics, and supercomputers.

The movement tries to envision of what is possible in terms of human enhancement and what could be done today to move towards those goals.

Transhumanism is distinctive in its particular focus on the applications of technologies to the improvement of human bodies at the individual level.

Much of the movement supports also the notion that with scientific advances in technology and science, humanity can or should be able to ultimately rise beyond the biological body's limitations.
