Stem Cell Breast Enlargement
Having used silicone in the past, there is now a stem cell breast enlargement procedure in development and in use in some part of the world. With aging, breast tissue lose some of the elasticity, firmness, and shape, all which are correctable, at least to some extent, with cosmetic surgery. This new procedure uses clients own fat and stem cells for reshaping the breast in the clients own desires. The procedure has been developed in Japan in 2004 by Kotaro Yoshimura, a leading surgeon at the Tokyo University medical school. With this procedure, stem cell technology and body's own fat apparently grow to having its own blood supply and thus the new breast tissue becomes part of the breast. This is in stark contrast with silicone based breast shaping procedures, where the silicone needs to be carefully packaged so that it does not come in contact with the natural breast tissue. According to reports, the procedure has already been given approval by German medical authorities and became legal throughout European Union. The complications from silicone based breast implants include the problem of leakage. Also, implants based on fat alone without stem cells have been associated with a high failure rate. In the procedure, the stem cell implants create only half the volume of the artificial alternative, which means that there has to be sufficient fat deposits in the body available in order to have a successful procedure.
