Red Clover Extract

Red Clover extract is a herb that contains estrogen-like substances which have been found beneficial in age related hot flushes in women.

The active substances that are responsible for this effectiveness are isoflavones and anticoagulant chemicals called coumarins.

However, despite the positive results from several studies on menopausal women and the extract, it is still used mainly in alternative medicine.

This is mainly because it is still unclear just how the extract functions in the treatment of menopausal symptoms.

In alternative medicine, the herb is sometimes found combined with black cohosh and other herbs in many herbal formulas for menopause.
