Plastic Surgery Taiwan

Perhaps the most famous celebrity client of plastic surgery in Taiwan has been the Taiwanese comedian Tsai Tou, reportedly adding folds to his eyelids, getting his eye bags removed, having his nose heightened and his wrinkles flattened with botox.

According to Tsai, the new look captures the "trustworthy" look that TV viewers prefer.

There are several ways in which plastic surgery in Taiwan differs from the Western procedures. For example, Westerners use botox, or botulinum toxin, to diminish wrinkles, while in Taiwan (and Korea and Japan), botox is injected into wide cheeks so the muscle will atrophy and the cheeks will shrink.

Many Taiwanese opt to go to South Korea for a cosmetic surgery operation.

One of the reasons is price, which attracts clients from Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong to Apkujong, a section of Seoul with over 400 surgery clinics.

There is even a busy avenue called "Plastic Surgery Street" that has numerous plastic surgery clinics in the same street.

Of the procedures available nose reshaping is the most popular procedure in Taiwan and eyelid operations number two.
