Nexrutine

Nexrutine is a natural, boswellia plant based substance that together with 5-Loxin, has been proven helpful in inhibiting the destructive actions of inflammation-inducing enzymes COX-2 as well as 5-LOX.

Taken together, these two compounds have a more powerful effect than individually.

The compound inhibits the Cox-2 enzyme, but, according to the manufacturers of the supplements with the compound, it does so not by inhibiting the enzyme itself but acting on the gene that expresses the enzyme.

Nexrutine is derived from the bark of the phellodendron tree, which has been used in Chinese medicine for more than 1,500 years.

One of the uses of the compound is for joint health. Other compounds aimed at this area of preventive anti aging include MSM, Chondroitin, and Glucosamine.

The compound has shown potential antitumor effect on human prostate cancer cells.

The results so far suggest that it inhibits tumor cell proliferation through apoptosis induction and inhibition of cell survival signaling.
