Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is a cosmetic procedure in which the stratum corneum (dead outermost surface of the skin) is partially or completely removed.Different methods include abrasion assisted with aluminum oxide crystals, baking soda, salt or corn cob granules. The procedure is used effectively to treat fine wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars left from moderate to severe acne. It has been suggested that in addition to promoting new skin to appear for renewed appearance, this procedure even stimulates the growth of new skin cells. This procedure is less dramatic than dermabrasion, which is typically performed under anesthetic and has much more potential adverse results. Microdermabrasion - StudiesMicrodermabrasion.
