Japanese Knot Weed Extract
Japanese Knot Weed extract is one of the primary sources for resveratrol in supplements, which has been suggested with anti tumor effectiveness in animal studies.
The root of the herb is the main source for resveratrol, and is the the same beneficial phytochemical that is found in red wine.
In research, the resveratrol extracted from the herb root was found to prevent tumor growth and metastasis to lung and tumor-induced neovascularization in Lewis lung carcinoma-bearing mice.
The dried root and stem of the herb is also used in traditional Chinese and Japanese medicine as a circulatory tonic, among other things. It is also known there as Hu Zhang, Hu Chang, tiger cane, kojo-kon and hadori-kon.
