Growth Hormone Therapy
Growth hormone therapy aims to counter signs of aging by keeping the levels of growth hormone on youthful levels.
The main idea behind hormone replacement therapies for anti aging purpose reflects the thinking and theory that aging is a disease characterized by declining hormonal health.
For growth hormone, production rate has been suggested by research to decrease by 14% every decade into old age and from the peak that occurs during adolescence.
For some cause that has not been identified as of yet, the pituitary gland ceases to secrete the hormone gradually, which tells the body to repair the cells.
It has been suggested that a 60 year old man secretes 25% of the hGH secreted by a 20 year old man.
The widespread use replacement therapy with human growth hormone started after 1989, when a landmark double blind study by Dr. Daniel Rudman was published.
The results of this study conclusively showed that with the use of growth hormone, age reversal (as measured by thicker skin, bigger muscles, diminished age-related stomach fat, restoration of lost bone from spine) was possible.
In subsequent research, four methods have been identified for increasing the level of human growth hormone in the body:
Direct human growth hormone injections
Growth Hormone Releasing Factors (GHRF)
Growth Hormone boosting hormone replacement
IGF-1 Replacement
For this therapy, there are significant risks associated, and there may be significant risks that have not been discovered in studies.
