Glucosamine
Glucosamine is found in cartilage and plays an important role in its health. From anti aging perspective, it is important to note that with age, people lose some of the glucosamine and other substances in cartilage. This progression may lead to thinning of cartilage and progression of osteoarthritis. Most of the available studies have gone into researching the effectiveness of the compound in prevention of such progression of cartilage deteriation. Current research suggest that the compound is more likely to be effective when taken with other nutrients such as MSM and chondroitin for cartilage health. This is why many supplement manufacturers package the compound together with chondroitin and possibly MSM.
