Gerbera Daisy
Gerbera daisy is one the flowering plants that NASA found effective in cleaning indoor air of formaldehyde, benzene, and carbon monoxide. This plant, together with several others, has been suggested effective in combating poor indoor air quality and so-called "sick building syndrome". Sick building syndrome happens due to the fact that Environmental Protection Agency has, over the last 25 years, found measurable levels of over 107 known carcinogens in modern offices and homes, and people feel generally unwell in such environments. However, scientists say it is still too soon to tell whether increased incidences of cancer can be partly attributed to exposure to modern living and indoor air pollutants, but many consider cleaning indoor air a significant part of any serious anti aging regimen. In the study were the plant was found effective indoor air cleaner, Philodendron, spider plant and the golden pothos were labeled the most effective in removing formaldehyde molecules. Gerbera daisy and chrysanthemums were rated superior in removing benzene and other good performers were Dracaena Massangeana, Spathiphyllum, and Golden Pothos. Gerbera Daisy - Studies
