Ellagic Acid
Ellagic acid, found in red raspberries, has shown anti-carcinogen, anti-mutagen, and anti-cancer potency in studies.Specifically, studies on the compound have shown promise on inhibiting and stopping mitosis-cancer cell division, and apoptosis (normal cell death) for breast, pancreas, esophageal, skin, colon and prostate cancer cells. Clinical tests also show that the compound has promise on preventitive effect on the destruction of the p53 gene by cancer cells. In dietary sources, the Meeker Red Raspberry is the best source of Ellagic Acid, followed by the Chiliwak and Willamette.
