Anti Wrinkle Procedure

Popular anti wrinkle procedure types include microdermabrasion, dermabrasion, laser resurfacing, and chemical peels.

Most, if not all, of the available anti aging and anti wrinkle methods carry significant risks.

Before taking into going and doing any of the procedures, you should talk to your doctor about these risks and how to minimize them.

Some of the risks, especially with laser resurfacing and chemical peels, are such, that certain skin types cannot be worked with these methods due to them.

Microdermabrasion

This is a cosmetic procedure that has been gaining popularity in day spas, doctors' practices, and medical spas.

In the procedure, the dead outermost surface of the skin is partially or completely removed by light abrasion.

To achieve this, there are several different methods including mechanical abrasion from jets of zinc oxide or aluminum oxide crystals, fine organic particles, or a roughened surface.

Dermabrasion

Dermabrasion is a more severe medical procedure carried out under general or light anesthesia in contrast to microdermabrasion.

In this medical procedure the surface of the epidermis of the skin is removed by abrasion.

The procedure is often described as painful and typically requires a general anaesthetic or twilight anaesthesia.

After the procedure, the skin is typically very red, and the recovery for healing often takes several months.

Laser Resurfacing

This procedure is also known as "laser peel," and uses a carbon dioxide (CO2) laser.

In the procedure, the outer layers of damaged skin are stripped away first.

Then, as new cells form during the healing process, a smoother, tighter, younger-looking skin surface appears.

Chemical Peels

There are several types of chemical peels, including Alpha hydroxy acids, trichloacetic acids, and phenol peels.

Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), such as glycolic acid, are one of the most popular over-the-counter peels for home use (in mild concentrations).

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used as an intermediate to deep peeling agent, and the application of such peeling agents should be administered by a doctor.

Finally, Phenol is the strongest of the chemical solutions and produces a deep skin peel.
