Andong International Mask Dance Festival Honored

South Korea’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism has given the Andong International Mask Dance Festival the distinction of “best festival in Korea”.

Before announcing the result, the Ministry evaluated some 500 regional festivals.

Last year, the Andong Festival was given the second place in the same evaluation of festivals.

This year (the festival is held for 10 days in late September to early October), the Andong Talchoom Festival drew over 608,000 tourists (including 10,500 foreigners), a full 100,000 more than last year.

To catch the festival next year, the site of the festival is by the Nakdong River, Hahoe-maul and Dosan Seowon.
