Alpha Lipoic Acid

Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant, and works in the body agains "free radicals", which are harmful body's waste products when the body turns food to energy.

As an antioxidant, the compound works together with other antioxidants, including vitamins C and E.

As an antioxidant, it has an important place in an anti aging regimen that follows the antioxidant theory of aging.

Studies have suggested several anti aging properties for Alpha Lipoic Acid besides its general antioxidant property.

For one, as alpha-lipoic acid can pass easily into the brain, it has shown protective effects on brain and nerve tissue and exhibits promise as a treatment for stroke and other brain disorders involving free radical damage in animal studies.
