Alpha Hydrox AHA Anti Wrinkle
Alpha hydrox AHA anti wrinkle products use the effect of chemical peeling to achieve anti aging results.
Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA), such as glycolic acid, are in fact one of the most popular over-the-counter peels for home use (in mild concentrations). Some manufacturer's studies (on AHA and related Beta Hydroxy Acids) suggest that as long as 6 months treatment may be required for significant anti aging effects to occur (for the lesser concentrations). The most common AHAs that are used to achieve anti wrinkle effectiveness include: Glycolic acid, which is the most widely used of out of the group and is usually manufactured from sugar cane. Many consider this the most effective of the AHAs. There is also lactic acid, which is derived mostly from milk and it is considered milder and less irritating to glycolic acid, which should be better for sensitive skin. Of the rest, citric acid comes from citrus fruits, malic acid from apples and pears, and tartaric acid from grapes. These are not as common and effectiveness of them in use is not as clear.
